What Global Investors Think: Taiwan’s IR in the Eyes of Extel

—Insights from Extel

TruePulse Capital Advisory attended the Taiwan Investor Relations Institute (TIRI) Annual Conference session led by Extel, which surveyed over 6,300 institutional investors and analysts to evaluate corporate IR performance across Asia, including Taiwan.

Strong Disclosure, Weak Engagement

Extel’s findings show that Taiwanese companies outperform the Asian average in disclosure quality and timeliness — a testament to their emphasis on transparency. However, they fall short in management accessibility and interaction quality. Investors increasingly expect not just clarity but genuine engagement and leadership dialogue.

Hardware and Semiconductors Remain Taiwan’s Strength

Technology remains the most closely followed sector among global investors, with semiconductors and hardware collectively drawing over 60% of total votes. This highlights Taiwan’s positioning as a hub for reliable, high-quality manufacturing — an area gaining renewed appreciation amid global supply chain realignment.

The CEO–IRO Dynamic

IROs remain the backbone of corporate communication, while CEOs’ communication impact surpasses that of CFOs. For global investors, clarity, conviction, and responsiveness are key trust drivers. Taiwanese companies can enhance investor resonance by blending authority with narrative depth.

TruePulse View

Extel’s research reinforces that Taiwan’s IR foundation is strong — but future differentiation lies in elevating engagement quality.
TruePulse believes the next wave of IR excellence will be driven by:

  • Visionary CEO communication
  • Data-driven investor targeting
  • Structured feedback systems that capture market perception

In IR, rhythm and resonance are just as crucial as accuracy.
